Privacy Policy
Fomo Calc is a calculator. You give it a ticker, an amount, and a date, and it shows you what that investment would be worth today. It does not have accounts, it does not have a login, and it never asks for your name, your email, or anything about your actual finances.
This policy explains the small amount of data the app does handle.
What stays on your device
The following never leaves your iPhone. It is stored locally and is deleted when you delete the app.
- Saved scenarios — the tickers, amounts, and dates you chose to save.
- Recent searches — the last few ticker symbols you looked up.
- Cached price history — so the app works offline and makes fewer network requests.
- Your free-tier usage counts — how many DCA and Compare runs you have used this week.
What we send to analytics
Fomo Calc uses TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service, to understand which features people use. TelemetryDeck does not build advertising profiles and does not sell data.
Each analytics event carries:
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| A random install identifier | Generated on your device the first time you open the app. It is not your Apple ID, your device ID, or your advertising identifier, and it is not linked to any identity. Deleting the app discards it permanently. |
| Ticker symbols you calculate or search for | To know which assets to prioritise. |
| A range for the amount you entered | We record a bucket such as "500–999", never the exact figure you typed. |
| A range for the time horizon and the resulting gain | Same approach — buckets, not exact values. |
| Feature events | App launch, calculation started or completed, paywall shown, purchase started or completed, share tapped. |
| Error details when a calculation or purchase fails | A short technical description of what went wrong — for example that a ticker returned no data, or that the App Store request failed — so we can find and fix breakages. It does not include the amount you entered. |
| Standard device metadata collected by TelemetryDeck | iOS version, device model, app version, and coarse region. |
We deliberately do not collect the exact amounts you enter. The app converts them to ranges before anything is sent, so your real investment figures stay on your device.
Market data
To price a scenario, the app requests historical prices and dividend history for the ticker you entered from third-party market-data sources. Those requests contain the ticker symbol and date range. They do not contain the amount you entered, your install identifier, or anything else about you.
Purchases
Fomo Calc Pro is a one-time in-app purchase handled entirely by Apple. Payment is processed by Apple under its own privacy policy. We never see or store your payment details. The app only learns whether a valid purchase exists for your Apple ID.
Children
Fomo Calc is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Your choices
- Delete individual saved scenarios from the Saved tab, or clear recent searches from the search sheet.
- Deleting the app removes every piece of locally stored data, including the install identifier.
- To request deletion of analytics events associated with your install identifier, email us with that identifier. You can find it by contacting support from the app.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the effective date above will change and the updated policy will appear at this URL.
